Inside Autocade
Ford Falcon (EA26). 1993–4 (prod. 72,571). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 3984 cm³ (I6 OHC), 4942 cm³ (V8 OHV). Slight external changes to the grille, though there were numerous improvements throughout. S replaced by nicely equipped Futura, reviving an old name. Previous S-XR6 and S-XR8 saw the removal of the S prefix, and the XRs gained a more distinctive nose featuring four round headlamps.

Italia 2000 Coupé. 1959–62 (prod. 297 approx.). 2-door coupé. F/R, 1991 cm³ (I4 OHV). Hand-made, rebodied Triumph TR3, with attractive Michelotti-designed bodies by Vignale, shown at Torino in 1958. Made under contract to Ruffino SpA. Never officially a Standard–Triumph model, particularly after Leyland Motors’ takeover and the company’s withdrawal of support. Often referred to as Triumph Italia. Very expensive when new, and not popular; underpowered considering the price, though reasonably competent.

Holden Belmont (HX). 1976–7 (prod. 110,669 all HX). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door utility, 2-door panel van. F/R, 3310 cm³ (I6 OHV), 4146 cm³ (V8 OHV). Short-lived variant of full-size Holden launched July 1976, released to comply with new emissions’ regulation—with consequent loss in power. The 2·85-litre was deleted, so sedan and wagon began with the 3·3-litre six while the commercials had the 4·2-litre option. Last Belmont passenger cars, though ute and van continued into HZ series.
