Inside Autocade
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (TRJ150/GRJ150/GRJ151). 2009–23 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 2693 cm³ petrol, 2755, 2982 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 2986 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 3456, 3955 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 4608 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Fussier-looking Prado, this time without a three-door model. More aerodynamic, with improved fuel efficiency. More safety equipment. Body-on-frame construction as before. Minor changes in 2010. Sold also as Lexus GX as before, but with smaller GX400 complementing GX460 (q.v. Lexus GX (J150)). Ride not great but one of the more “bulletproof” off-roaders available. Diesel somewhat underpowered for the heavy vehicle.

Technically the same as before, with the same wheelbase, but an extra 11 in added to the overall length, most of it in the rear, to distinguish it from lesser GM cars. Conventional controls replaced touch-screen system for 1990. Improved V6 for 1991; minor improvements to equipment for remaining two years, though sales fell into the four digits in 1993 in an abbreviated model year. Related to Oldsmobile Toronado (1990–2), which also underwent the body lengthening.
