Hindustan Ambassador Avigo. 2003–10 (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon. F/R, 1489 cm³ petrol (I4 OHV), 1817 cm³ petrol, 1995 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Attempt to modernize Ambassador with grille that some claimed aped Mini (R50)’s, but precious little changed under the bonnet—which meant a vehicle woefully out of date, noisy, and poorly built. Leather seats signalled more upmarket ambitions. Never supplanted the more upright car and deleted due to poor sales.
