Downsized again, on to 108 in (2,700 mm) wheelbase, along with Oldsmobile Toronado (1986–9), with gains in fuel economy. Now with unitary construction. Electronic instrumentation on a nine-inch CRT, featuring a touch-screen trip computer and climate control system, revolutionary in its day. Four-wheel disc brakes. Sales dropped, due to Riviera’s similarity to other GM products, and the absence of a V8.
