Inside Autocade
Opel Mokka/Buick Encore (J13). 2012–22 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1364, 1372, 1399, 1598, 1796 cm³ petrol, 1598, 1686 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Gamma II platform-based SUV, related to Daewoo Matiz (M300) and Chevrolet Trax, and built in Korea. Sold as Vauxhall Mokka in the UK, and Buick Encore in North America and China. Flex-Fix bicycle carrier slid out from the rear bumper. Inside, not the best fit and finish from the Korean assembly. Comfortable ride and above-average handling, but poor overall performance and harsh. Four-wheel-drive system is on demand, with power to the front wheels till the system detects a loss of traction, upon which 50 per cent is transferred to the rear. Facelifted and renamed Mokka X in 2016; Buick version lost its fake Ventiports.

Cadillac Sedan de Ville/Cadillac Coupé de Ville (C-body). 1989–93 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/F, 4467, 4893 cm³ (V8 OHV). An extra 3 in in the wheelbase for sedans and 10 in in overall length, the de Ville could no longer be mistaken for a lesser C-body. Extra-long overhangs; front fenders made of composite to save weight; and larger trunk. Coupé de Ville stayed on shorter wheelbase platform. Extra horsepower from 4·5 in 1990, bolder grille and redesigned hood in 1991, along with 200 hp 4·9 as standard. Touring Sedan, with better handling, returned in 1991. Equipment levels improved each model year.

q.v. Cadillac Fleetwood (1989–92)
Toyota Kluger (XU20/ACU20W/MCU20W/MHU28). 2000–7 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 2362 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2994, 3310 cm³ petrol, 3310 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (V6 DOHC). First iteration of this crossover, sharing platform with Toyota Harrier (U10), but with more conservative styling and seven seats. Sold as Highlander in some export markets. Hybrid from 2005. Popular in North America, though Japanese sales of the line ended in 2007. Unsurprisingly car-like given its base, though some body roll thanks to the higher centre of gravity. Sensibly designed, well made interior.
