Latest revision as of 11:33, 21 October 2013A body-on-frame full-size luxury sedan, spun off from the Lincoln Continental line in 1981. It survived through the 1980s thanks to traditional buyers and a recovering US economy. By 1990, Lincoln rounded off the Town Car’s sharp, 1970s-designed corners, and 1997 saw that version rebodied with Ford’s New Edge design. The Town Car was beloved especially of the hire car industry, thanks to its simplicity and durability. All Town Cars were on the Panther platform that débuted for the 1979 model year under the US Ford LTD. Marque: Lincoln | Predecessor: Lincoln Continental | Successor: Lincoln MKT
