From AutocadeLincoln Town Car. 1990–7 (prod. 659,767 for 1992–7 only). 4-door sedan. F/R, 4601 cm³ (V8 OHC), 4942 cm³ (V8 OHV). Restyled version of old body-on-frame full-size Lincoln, with corners rounded off. Remarkably, won a Motor Trend Car of the Year award, despite the dinosaur formula. Driver and passenger air bags from 1990. Old Windsor OHV replaced with Modular OHC engine from 1991. Minor facelifts in 1993 and 1995, with interior revamp in 1995. Seventy-fifth anniversary edition in 1996, commemorating the marque’s birthday, only in cordovan with charcoal interior or silver with red interior. Poor fuel economy as expected, excessive body roll and too-soft ride, with negative consequences on handling. Huge trunk; poor rearward visibility with the large D-pillars.
