Mercury’s intermediate-sized performance car, spun off from the Comet Cyclone for the 1967 model year, with the largest engine in the range as an option. Well regarded, peaking with the 1968–9 generation. By the time of the last Cyclones of 1970–1, the tide had turned against the muscle car.
