Mitsubishi Mirage. 1983–91 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1298, 1468, 1598, 1755 cm³ petrol, 1795 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). All-new Mirage, with Mitsubishi developing the model alongside the Lancer Fiore sedan. Worthy, refined, but from 1984, losing the Supershift dual-mode gearbox in favour of a conventional one, making the models less interesting. Turbo model from 1984 (1·6-litre). Exported as Mitsubishi Colt in many markets, notably European ones; Dodge Colt in the US. Wagon, twinned with Lancer Wagon, from 1985, built till 1991; three-door hatchback to 1987. G37B petrol engine with 1·8 litres for Wagon only.
