Ford Custom 500. 1973–8 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 351, 400, 429, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). Entry-level full-size Ford, basically a de-trimmed LTD. Same comments for LTD apply here: fairly reliable full-size car but with poor gas mileage as weight increased during the 1970s. Wagon dubbed Ranch Wagon. The 429 was available only for 1973. Supposedly absorbed in to LTD range with 1975 facelift in US, though continued for fleet sales, and available in Canada for private sales through 1978.
