Compact car, created so that Samsung could have a competitor in the Hyundai Avante XD sector. Thanks to Renault, the company raided the alliance’s parts’ bin for the first-generation model, based around the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy (G10). The second-generation model had loftier aims: to spearhead Renault’s expansion into some markets, and shared a platform with the Renault Mégane III. The three-box sedan would later be launched with a new nose as the Renault Fluence and an electric model was planned.
