Rover 45 (HH). 1999–2004 (prod. 129,250 to 2003). 5-door saloon. F/F, 1396, 1588, 1796 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1590 cm³ petrol, 1994 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1997 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Facelifted 400, no longer trading on the snob appeal of the Rover name, and more sensibly priced. Two-litre KV6 replaced previous four, and the overall look tried to ape the new Rover 75 Mk I, with more chrome and better perceived quality. However, the 45 was dated alongside newer competition and sales began falling.
