Rover 45 (HH/Oyster). 2004–5 (prod. 129,250 Mk I to 2003). 5-door saloon. F/F, 1396, 1588, 1796 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1994 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1997 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Facelifted version of 45, already long past its sell-by date. Unconvincing facelift failed to hide 45’s cramped, early-’90s interior (traceable to the 1992 Honda Domani (MA)) and lack of refinement. Good equipment levels. Still good performance from K-series engines and handling not too bad, but well behind the competition.
