Pontiac equivalent to the Chevrolet Camaro as GM cashed in on the pony-car segment. Introduced later than Chevrolet, and incorporated the lessons learned there. A stronger performance bent, and by the 1970s, firmly established as a performance car. Often seen in film and TV during the 1970s and 1980s, but its appeal dropped through the 1990s.
