Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (GM10/W-body). 1988–97 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible, 4-door sedan. F/F, 2261 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 3135 cm³ (V6 OHV), 3351 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Related to Pontiac Grand Prix (1988–96) and Buick Regal (1988–96). Four-door sedan from 1990. Took Supreme to front-wheel drive; attractive, contemporary American styling. Base DOHC four, usually underpowered at the top end, with new DOHC V6 standard on International Series for 1991. New front and rear ends for 1992. Four replaced with OHV six for 1994, which gradually improved over time, interior changes 1995. Convertibles dropped for 1996 and DOHC six dropped for 1997. Good handling generally, but unrefined; average build quality meant adequate quietness, behind Ford Taurus Mk II and the Japanese competition.
