Nissan Violet (710)
From AutocadeNissan Violet (710). 1973–7 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1428, 1595, 1770 cm³ (I4 OHC). Overstyled 1970s range from Nissan, exported to some countries as Datsun 140J and 160J, or as Datsun 710. Badged 160U in South Africa. As Bluebird grew, in part to pursue more affluent Japanese consumers, and to rival Toyopet Corona Mark II (T60), Violet took on the segment, and was even present in motorsport. Minor changes to rear for sedan in 1974; mid-term facelift in 1976, upon which two-door sedan was deleted. Plain, well equipped cars, but not as celebrated as 510 Bluebird.
