Jaguar XJR (X300).jpg

Jaguar XJ6/Jaguar XJ12/Jaguar XJR (X300/X305/X306). 1994–7 (prod. 92,038 incl. Daimler). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 3239, 3980 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 5994 cm³ (V12 OHC). ‘Retrolutionary’ facelift for XJ40 series, bringing curves back to XJ, making it reminiscent of the Series III. Major updates for engines, with XJ12 receiving six-litre unit. LWB option for all but XJ Sport and XJR. XJR was the supercharged model—Jaguar’s first supercharged road car. More refined, very quiet, with more standard equipment. Quality much improved under Ford ownership. Still thirsty, and cramped compared to period German rivals. More a cruiser than anything else, but handling, and steering weight and feel improved over XJ40.

Manufacturing location: Coventry, West Midlands, England

Marque: Jaguar | Model: Jaguar XJ | Predecessor: Jaguar XJ40, XJ81 | Successor: Jaguar X308

q.v. Daimler (X300), Daimler Double Six (X305)
