SAIPA Tiba (S81). 2008 to date (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1497 cm³ (I4 OHC). SAIPA’s local effort at creating a small sedan, originally dubbed Miniator and hurriedly renamed Tiba. Engine related to Kia unit, derived from 1·3 unit in SAIPA Pride but with capacity increased, with the aid of German engineers at the University of Aachen. Platform also derived from Kia Pride (Y). Parts strengthened over donor car’s, though little is known about the car’s safety record. Tiba 211 hatchback production commenced at the beginning of 2013.
