Kia Potentia (기아 포텐샤). 1992–2002 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2184 cm³ petrol, 2003, 2184 cm³ LPG (I4 OHC), 2494 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 2954 cm³ (V6 OHC). Kia version of the Mazda Luce (HC), production commencing after the model had been deleted in Japan for private sales, as a challenger to the Hyundai Grandeur (LX). Positioned above the Concord, Kia’s previous flagship. Top-spec President trim from 1994, and DOHC 2·0 added that year. When the succeeding Kia Enterprise was launched, only the two-litre remained. Facelift in 1997: no longer the flagship of the range, a sportier feel was introduced, though the five-speed manual was deleted. The two-litre was joined by a 2·5 V6 and a 2·0 LPG four, and a passenger airbag became available.

Manufacturing location: Hwasung, Korea

Marque: Kia | Successor: Kia Enterprise
