Kia version of the Mazda Luce (HC), production commencing after the model had been deleted in Japan for private sales, as a challenger to the Hyundai Grandeur (LX). Positioned above the Concord, Kia’s previous flagship. Top-spec President trim from 1994, and DOHC 2·0 added that year. When the succeeding Kia Enterprise was launched, only the two-litre remained. The two-litre was joined by a 2·5 V6 and a 2·0 LPG four, and a passenger airbag became available.
