Holden Statesman (HJ). 1974–6 (prod. 167,251 all HJ). 4-door sedan. F/R, 5047 cm³ (V8 OHV). Squared-off, more formal looks for top Holden, exported to South Africa as the AJ-series Chevrolet de Ville and Chevrolet Caprice Classic, parallel to the new “base” Statesman de Ville (the Custom had been deleted) and the new flagship, the Statesman Caprice. Cadillac-style grille, new rear lights, air conditioning, leather seats, power windows and electric locking. ABS from 1976.
