Triumph TR8. 1977–81 (prod. 2,748, other source lists 2,498 incl. 2,302 for US). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 3528 cm³ (V8 OHV). Eight-cylinder version of Triumph TR7, mostly exported to US. Twenty-two built to UK spec. Arguably what the TR7 should always have been, though suffered from patchy BL build quality. Good handling, but solid-axle rear left something to be desired. Drophead added in 1979.
