1991 Toyota Crown Majesta.jpg

Toyota Crown Majesta (S140/JZS140/UZS140). 1991–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, F/A, 2997 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 3968 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Looking like an enlarged version of the S140 Crown hardtop, Majesta was very different under the skin, with monocoque construction (a first for the Crown line). Wider and heavier, meant to be positioned above both the regular Crown and the Celsior, with the latter’s V8 available (which top S130s used, too). Cd at 0,31, perhaps not a surprise given the relatively formal shape. Four-wheel steering in 1992. GPS navigation optional, along with heated seats, and standard head-up display—all fairly rare at the time. Mid-term change in 1993, with optional passenger airbag. Stability control from 1995, the first Toyota to be so equipped. Related to Toyota Aristo (S140).

Manufacturing location: Toyota City, Aichi, Japan

Marque: Toyota | Model: Toyota Crown | Predecessor: Toyota Crown (S130) | Successor: Toyota Crown Majesta (S150)
