Originally a utility van on the Toyota Corona (T190) platform, the Caldina became more of a lifestyle wagon sold to private buyers after the success of the Subaru Legacy. A restyling in 1997 led to a second generation, rarely seen outside Japan, while the final Caldina shook off any resemblance to the Corona in favour of a sport wagon concept.
