From AutocadeToyota Avalon (MCX10/XX10). 1994–2005 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 2994 cm³ petrol, 2994 cm³ petrol–LPG (V6 DOHC). Toyota’s non-Lexus flagship in North America, called the company’s Buick equivalent by the US press at the time, appearing like a bloated, six-light Toyota Scepter and dull to drive. Launched for 1995 model year. Engine output improvements in 1996, minor changes 1997. Production ceased 1999 in Kentucky, with tooling transferred to Victoria, Australia, where the Avalon had a second life from 2000. Never that strong a seller, given that it looked too old hat. Mk II version from 2001, Mk III, with odd, Australian-penned facelift, from 2003.
