Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. 1980–9 (prod. 8,129). 4-door saloon. F/R, 6750 cm³ (V8 OHV). Developed on Silver Shadow floorpan, Silver Spirit had up-to-date styling (by Fritz Feller), plus innovations such as a retracting Spirit of Ecstasy that hid inside the radiator in case of impact or tampering. Improved ride and roadholding over predecessor. Bosch fuel injection from 1986. Twinned with Bentley Mulsanne (1980–92), which was a lower-spec Spirit.
