From AutocadeRolls-Royce Silver Shadow. 1965–77 (prod. 20,605). 2- and 4-door saloon, 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 6230, 6750 cm³ (V8 OHV). Rolls-Royce moves to unitary construction, with self-levelling independent rear suspension (of Citroën design), all-round disc brakes, and power windows. Lighter than Silver Cloud, and a better handler. Two-door saloon from 1966, convertible from 1967. James Young made 35 two-door models, though majority (571) were made by Mulliner, Park Ward. Larger engine from 1969 to cope with emissions’ standards in some markets. GM Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic standard; Turbo Hydramatic 400 for export. Twinned with Bentley T1. Two-doors renamed Corniche in 1971.
