Opel Rekord P2. 1960–3 (prod. 787,684). 2- and 4-door saloon, 3-door estate, 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible, 2-door pick-up, 3-door van. F/R, 1488, 1680 cm³ (I4 OHV). Officially, Rekord spun off into its own line, though base Olympia models continued at the bottom end. Larger body with cleaner, less “American”, lines, though same wheelbase as predecessor. No more dog-leg A-pillar, and wider front doors. Rare convertible by Autenrieth. Prewar engines, with three-speed gearbox for 1500, and four-speed for 1700. Semi-automatic available for most models. Said to have inspired the Toyopet Corona (T20), though given they were released the same year, this is not likely.
