From AutocadeOpel Calibra. 1989–97 (prod. 239,118). 3-door coupé. F/F, F/A, 1998 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2498 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Vectra A-based coupé on same wheelbase, one of Opel’s most stunning designs under Wayne Cherry. Most aerodynamic production car till Honda Insight (ZE1) beat its drag coefficient of 0,26. Sixteen-valve two-litre model probably the best of the lot; four-wheel-drive models have more power but this was not as noticeable behind the wheel. Dynamically, just like Vectra A, as was interior—which meant the promise of the sexy body was never realized in the car’s standard form. Sold as Vauxhall Calibra, Chevrolet Calibra and Holden Calibra in UK, Latin America and Australasia respectively.
Marque: Opel | Predecessor: Opel Manta B | Successor: Opel Astra G
