From AutocadeNissan Quest (V40). 1993–8 (prod. n/a). 4-door MPV. F/F, 2960 cm³ (V6 OHC). Nissan-developed, Ford-built minivan for the North American market, also sold as the Mercury Villager (1993–8), produced from 1992 for the 1993 model year. Ford signed the agreement with Nissan as it wanted to go the front-wheel-drive route, something its regular Japanese partner was not willing to do (it developed the Mazda MPV (LV)). Mirrored the Chrysler minivans in size and proportions, mechanically related to the Nissan Maxima (J30). MacPherson struts at front, leaf springs at rear, also common with Chrysler. Comments for Villager apply: not the roomiest, V6 only adequate, and wind noise one of its chief issues. A competent handler with minimal body roll for the type of vehicle. Some Japanese sales, though in LHD—hardly practical given there was no rear door on the left-hand side. Mid-term changes in August 1996.
