Mercury Mountaineer (U152). 2002–5 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 3958 cm³ (V6 OHC), 4601 cm³ (V8 OHC). Essentially a more upmarket Ford Explorer (U152) with Mercury’s waterfall grille, though there were other differences, such as taillamps, bumpers, tailgate, front wings and bonnet. Similar virtues to Explorer, with good ride and stability; V6 performance subpar and fuel economy was poor.
