Mercury Mountaineer (U251). 2006–10 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 3958 cm³ (V6 OHC), 4601 cm³ (V8 OHC). Same formula as before, with similar styling. Upscale twin to the Ford Explorer (U251). Excellent for towing, though thirsty, and not even that quick in V8 form compared with rivals. Reasonable handling and ride given the truck-based design. Dated interior with lacklustre materials. Not succeeded as Ford wound up the Mercury marque.
