Lincoln Continental Mark III
From AutocadeLincoln Continental Mark III. 1969–71 (prod. 79,000 approx.). 2-door coupé. F/R, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). Art-déco-looking version of Ford Thunderbird, conceived on relatively little money as Lincoln’s response to Cadillac Eldorado (1967–70), not to be confused with car of the same name from 1958. Launched April 1968 as a 1969 model-year car. Soft-riding with electrical mod-cons, but less than reliable. A good seller that fulfilled its aim: to rival Cadillac, which it did in sales’ terms.
Marque: Lincoln | Model: Lincoln Continental | Predecessor: Continental Mark II | Successor: Lincoln Continental Mark IV (1972–6)
