Jaguar XJ6/Jaguar XJ6L/Jaguar XJ12/Jaguar XJ12L. 1968–73 (prod. 19,322 for 2·8, 59,951 for 4·2, 3,228 for XJ12). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 2790, 4235 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 5343 cm³ (V12 OHC). Jaguar creates a world-beater, one of the finest saloon cars in the world. Astonishing performance, handling, refinement for XJ6 4·2. XJ12 from 1972 with V12 and world’s fastest production saloon at 152 mph, though 12 mpg as fuel crisis hit a case of bad timing. LWB for XJ6 4·2 and XJ12 from 1972.
