From AutocadeJaguar XJR-S. 1988–93 (prod. 787 coupé, 50 convertible). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 5343, 5993 cm³ (V12 OHC). JaguarSport, a joint venture between Jaguar and TWR, created the XJ-S-based XJR-S, a potent, hand-built version with more advanced specification. Originally with 5·3 (prod. 326), with first 100 ‘Celebration Le Mans’ cars commemorating Jaguar’s win at the race; during 1989, switched to a 6·0 with Zytec engine management system, with and extra compression and torque, delivered through an engine with forged steel crankshaft with a greater stroke and forged alloy pistons. Originally 318 bhp from the 6·0, later 333 bhp. Facelift at the same time the XJ-S became the XJS. Convertible for US only, in 1993.
