IES 3CV
From AutocadeIES 3CV. 1983–90 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 602 cm³ (F2 OHV). With Citroën having passed into Peugeot hands in the 1970s, its position in the republic was unclear, leading Eduardo Sal-Lari, president of Daher-Boge, which supplied its shock absorbers, to take over when the French left in 1980. The new firm, IES, resumed production in 1983. A restyle, in an attempt to modernize the 3CV, came in 1986, with the IES 3CV América; in 1987, there was a further attempt with a larger windscreen, front disc brakes and electronic ignition, with the car becoming the 3CV Súper América. Bankruptcy at IES saw to the end of the run in 1990.
