With Accord and Vigor growing into Mk I Legend territory, Honda moved the second generation (dubbed ‘Super Legend’ in Japanese marketing) even further upmarket, with the 3·2 V6 the only powerplant, and offered it only in a class 3 size. C32A engine longitudinally installed, with automatics only in the home market, though five- and six-speed manuals were offered for export. Adopted technologies from Honda NSX (NA1) development. Passenger-side airbag made its début, a first for Japan, appearing with side door beams, ABS, driver’s airbag and front seat belt pretensioners. A navigation system (not satellite-driven) was optional. Made in Korea as the Daewoo Arcadia and sold in North America as the Acura Legend. Mid-term changes on the home market in 1993.
