Holden Torana (TA). 1974–5 (prod. 11,304). 2- and 4-door sedan. F/R, 1254 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1760 cm³ (I4 OHC). Stopgap model, developed from LJ (and very similar to it) but equipped only with the 1·3 and 1·8 (for Deluxe) engines. After the growth of the Torana in 1974 to the mid-sized LH series, TA was meant to hold Holden’s position in the compact car market until the Gemini went on sale in March 1975.
