Ford Laser (CT20/BG/KF/KH). 1989–94 (prod. n/a). 3-, 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1324, 1498, 1597, 1839 cm³ petrol, 1686 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1498, 1839 cm³ (I4 DOHC). “Fat” Laser, with noticeable growth over previous model, as this generation had to do extra duty as the Ford Escort and Mercury Tracer in the US. Styling closer to contemporary Ford Tempo Mk II rather than anything from Europe or Australia. Not as well loved, as some thought this generation of Laser too big. Mid-term revisions in 1991. Less refined than equivalent Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic, with handling average on lesser models.
