Ford Tempo (Topaz). 1988–94 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/F, F/A, 2301 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2986 cm³ (V6 OHV). Reskinned Tempo sedan, making it look more like the Ford Taurus Mk I, although the coupé’s centre section remained untouched. New instrument panel inside, and driver’s airbag option. Despite the age, sales went up right after the reskin. All-wheel drive to 1991, V6 introduced for 1992. Sold exceptionally well, with a sales’ spurt in 1993 to 238,000 units, and still managed 100,000 for 1994. Twinned with Mercury Topaz (1988–94).
