F/R, 170, 200 in³ (I6 OHV), 289 in³ (V8 OHV). “Mustang-inspired” Falcon, with long-bonnet, short-boot proportions and Coke-bottle styling, based on the 1966 US model. Wheels Car of the Year for 1966. Larger than predecessor, and bigger than expected from the segment at the time. Futura replaced by 500. Synchromesh an option for three-speed manual. GT performance model, with V8, from 1968.
