Swoopy replacement for C520, on new C2 architecture, débuting in New York as a 2020 model in the US. Lower but with more headroom, and increased rear legroom and cargo space. Blind spot and parking assistance, automatic braking and automatic beam. Three-cylinder 1·5 is base unit for US, turbocharged 2·0 carried over but with more power. Lighter than predecessor. In the US, Escape supplanted most of Ford’s passenger cars. Larger, more upscale grille on Chinese-market model. Kuga in Europe, with Spanish production, and in Taiwan. Facelift in 2023 for North American model.
