BL revived the Double Six name which had been used to designate V12-powered versions of Daimler cars in the late 1920s and 1930s, for the top models based on the contemporary Jaguar XJ saloon. As in the 1930s, the Double Six was supplanted by eight-cylinder Daimler models.
