Chery E3. 2013–15 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1497 cm³ (I4 OHC). Yet another small budget sedan from Chery, making the range more confusing. Bland appearance, but at least it was original. Large centre touchscreen, giving a premium look, with lots of standard equipment, but harsh plastics used on the inside. SOHC only, with poor acceleration and insufficient low-end torque. Vague feedback behind the wheel, and some body roll, the rear torsion beam suspension not the best. Noisy and unrefined. As Chinese consumers became more sophisticated, the E3 might convince with its looks, but dynamically it was behind, and relied on its low price.
