From AutocadeCadillac Eldorado. 1986–91 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé. F/F, 4087, 4467, 4893 cm³ (V8 OHV). Another round of downsizing, with unusually elegant design: large wheels, long trunk lid, short cabin, but less special in other areas, with the end of the frameless doors and the convertible (again). Unpopular compared with previous year, with 1986 sales dropping 60 per cent. Soft ride, unless one opted for the Touring suspension (from 1987), which tightened things a bit. Restyle in 1988 to make the car look bigger, as GM realized its projections of rising gasoline prices proved unfounded; overall length increased 3 in. Upgrades to suspension in 1990 and on-board computer added. Largest 4·9 (200 hp) for final year, 1991, and Touring Coupe introduced with styling and suspension modifications similar to those of Seville STS.
