Smart Forfour (W453). 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door saloon. R/R, 898, 999 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 16·7 kWh electric. Smart revives the Forfour, saying customers who liked the Fortwo wanted the Smart æsthetic in a four-seater. Really a Renault Twingo III with the two-tone Smart bodywork. More premium cabin, though some Renault parts evident. Shorter, narrower and higher than original Forfour. Plenty of storage spaces and quite roomy for the 3·49 m length, especially with the seats down. Smaller engine featured a turbocharger, generating 90 PS, and topped the range. Collision warning and lane-keeping assist optional. Rear tyres wider than those in the front. Electric model from 2017 with 17·6 kWh battery (16·7 kWh usable), EQ branding from 2018 in line with Mercedes-Benz.
