Autocade is an international car cyclopædia that’s geographically unbiased, carefully edited for enthusiasts and media who want a quick, accurate reference. There is a greater emphasis on models produced after 1970.

Nissan Cube (Z10). 1998–2002 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1275, 1348 cm³ (I4 DOHC). An unexpected hit for Nissan, with squared-off, tall looks, based on the second-generation March. First ten months saw 100,000 units produced. Larger engine from 1999, with special-edition models later that year and in 2000. Mid-term changes 2000, when Cube became a five- rather than a four-passenger car. Larger engine’s output increased to 74 kW in 2001.

Holden Kingswood (HX). 1976–7 (prod. 110,669 all HX). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 3310 cm³ (I6 OHV), 4142, 5044 cm³ (V8 OHV). Externally, much the same as HJ, but engines adapted to meet stricter Australian emissions’ regulations. The 2·8 was deleted. Bucket seats as standard. Silver Anniversary model for November 1976, and Deluxe for September 1977, with 4·1 V8 as standard.

Chrysler 383. 1969–73 (prod. 951 sold). 4-door sedan. F/R, 6286 cm³ (V8 OHV). South African edition of the Dodge Monaco (1969–73), taking over from previous-generation Monaco in that market. Chrysler badge made a return after a decade, denoting that this was a cut above other products offered in the RSA. Fewer changes than US model: original resembled the 1969s, with some trim changes in 1971, and larger taillights in 1973. Final eight cars sold in 1974.
