Holden (HJ).jpg

Holden Belmont (HJ). 1974–6 (prod. 176,202 all HJ). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door utility, 2-door panel van. F/R, 2834, 3310 cm³ (I6 OHV), 4146 cm³ (V8 OHV). Australian Design Rules forced a facelift. HJ boxier with wraparound front and rear lights, full foam seats, new dashboard. The HJ saw the engine displacement expressed in metric, though they were the same capacities as HQ. The sedan and wagon had the 2·85-litre six from November 1974, while the utility had the 2·85 and 3·3; the van was available with all units plus a 4·2-litre V8. Still a poor handler, sadly.

Manufacturing location: Australia

Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Belmont | Predecessor: Holden Belmont (HQ) | Successor: Holden Belmont (HX)

q.v. Holden Kingswood (HJ), Holden Premier (HJ), Holden Statesman (HJ)
