A more car-like effort than its previous microcars, Caihong (which translates to rainbow) marked Zhidou’s return after filing for bankruptcy in 2019. Better quality than before, and plenty of customization options, including the ability to change panels. One-piece injection moulding allowed for easy repairs. Compact body, at 3,224 mm long, 1,515 mm wide and 1,630 mm high, riding 13 in wheels, yet wheelbase a lengthy 2,100 mm, aiding interior space. Turning radius of 4·19 m for manœuvrability. Large glass area. Plenty of storage spaces. High-strength steel in structure, but only a driver’s airbag. Nine-inch touchscreen in centre, and 5 in instrumentation screen. RFID mobile phone key with functions tied to the internet.
