Hyundai puts third-generation Grandeur on self-developed platform, and sells it far more widely than previous Mitsubishi-based models. Targeted at a younger buyer in Korea, as larger Mitsubishi Proudia (S32A)-based Equus went for the chauffeur-driven market. Mid-term facelift in 2002. Generously equipped; handling somewhat floaty, with considerable body roll and poor steering response. Electrical niggles with age.
